With a strong improvement through the ’’EOLE 2005’’ program that was launched in 1996, wind power has been a mature and reliable renewable energy that has proved to be essential to the French and European energetic mix. The French wind farm is composed of nearly 6000 wind turbines spread in 1500 farms. It represents more than 12000 MW.

By considering today technologies and the repowering potential, the growing objective fixed on the French territory by 2023 (between 21800 MW and 26000MW) will need the setting of nearly 4000 additional wind turbines.

Their outputs are constantly growing, they have a small influence on the soils, their sound levels are less and less high and they lead to important economical repercussions for the communities. For all these reasons, the new-generation win turbines bring many advantages to the industry for its land-based and offshore development.
